Biography
After years of experience as an actor, his career as a director begins precisely in 1997, when he accepts the challenge of directing his first feature film entitled Soft Air a low-budget movie candidate for the David di Donatello for the best screenplay, and screened at the Cannes Cinema Festival.
In 1998 the Director Gianpaolo Serra entrusted him with the direction of the second unit in the Docu-Film entitled Journey to Sicily.
In quality of Artistic Director, he realizes two theatrical pieces: Thousand Red Poppies (music festival dedicated to Luigi Tenco at the Teatro Olimpico in Rome) and The Bloopers festival in Italy (Teatro Flaiano in Rome). He directs several Advertising Spots (Salpa, Wax etc.) and Thematic Documentaries on Nature and the Environment such as Discovering Tilos and Budelli Island.
In the late 90s’ he works as Director’s First Assistant in the TV movie Report of a Blackmail by Danilo Massi, and in the feature film Crazy Love (where he also plays the role of Laura Chiatti’s dad) by Mariano Laurenti.
In 2010, as Director’s First Assistant as well as actor (in the role of General Merlo) he collaborates to the production of Claudio Fragasso's film The Last 56 hours and later, in 2013 also in the film by Federico Rizzo The Mafia Bookkeeper (where he plays the role of FBI Chief).
Since 2016 he is committed to the development of his film entitled Undercover Truth (shooting start planned for September 2021): a film where Masin is going to be author and director.
